The 18th Asia Pacific Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infection (APCCMI 2020): 5 - 7 November 2020

APCCMI 2020 will build on this rich history in Singapore and regional collaboration. The congress will focus on:

  1. Advances in infection control, microbiome and vaccines; new antimicrobials and antimicrobial stewardship.

  2. Advances in microbiology including rapid diagnostics, applications in whole genome sequencing, laboratory automation;

  3. Antimicrobial resistance in humans and within the One Health context of animals, humans and the environment;

  4. Challenges and progress in the three pandemic infections of HIV, Malaria and Tuberculosis;

  5. Emerging infectious diseases prevalent in the region (Chikungunya, Dengue, Zika) and globally (Avian and seasonal influenza, MERS-CoV);

  • There will be at least two plenary lectures and six concurrent symposia per day, with early morning meet-the-expert and lunch time sponsored symposia.

  • Poster and oral presentations will be invited with travel awards for best abstract.

  • Limited places will be available to visit the National Centre for Infectious Diseases.

17th Asia-Pacific Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infection cum 8th International Infection Control Conference

The APCCMI cum IICC 2018 congress will take place from the 30th of August to the 2nd of September 2018 at the Hong Kong Convention Centre (HKCEC).

This important meeting on clinical microbiology, infectious diseases diagnostics and management, infection prevention and control offers a unique opportunity for clinicians, scientists, researchers, pharmacists , infection control professionals / preventionist and other healthcare professionals to meet international experts from various parts of the world.

Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases - Annual Scientific Meeting 2018

The ASID Annual Scientific Meeting is the leading Australasian meeting for adult and paediatric infectious disease and clinical microbiology specialists. The conference is an ideal opportunity for connecting clinicians, microbiologists and other health professions with a common interest in infectious diseases and provides a friendly forum for the exchange of scientific advances in the prevention, diagnosis and management of clinical infectious diseases.

International speakers will offer expert global perspectives on our themes and Australasian research and expertise will be highlighted with keynote lectures, proffered papers, symposia and educational workshops.

Themes for 2018 include research data and emerging research tools, with additional themes including antimicrobial pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, paediatric infectious diseases, and infection control, among others.

Regional Grand Round: Infections in Liver Transplantation at The Liver Transplant Symposium 2017 - 27 October 2017

The Liver Transplant Symposium organised by National University Centre for Organ Transplantation is held annually, in partnership with The International Liver Transplant Society (ILTS).

SIDS members are invited to submit cases for the Regional Grand Round pertaining to challenging cases of Infections in Liver Transplantation. Selected cases will be discussed in depth by a panel of senior ID physicians from NUH, TTSH and SGH. This event will be held on the 27th of October (Friday) from 9am - 12pm at Tower Block, NUH.

The purpose of this event is to increase interest, and bring together our knowledge and expertise in this ever-changing and challenging field of ID. Residents interested in ID, Senior residents and Associate Consultants may use this event as an opportunity to practice case presentation skills, in preparation for similar competitive events held at international meetings. Additionally those interested in Transplant medicine should make use of the specially discounted rates for SIDS members to attend the comprehensive Transplant Hepatology Workshop later the same day and the main Symposium following on the weekend.
