IUMS Congresses 2017 is organised by Singapore Society for Microbiology and Biotechnology (SSMB). Over the span of 5 days, it brings together three congresses; 15th International Congress of Bacteriology and Applied Microbiology15th International Congress of Mycology and Eukaryotic Microbiology and 17th International Congress of Virology.

SIDS Annual Practice Update 2017

The next SIDS Annual Practice Update (APU) will be held on 11 March 2017 at the Lecture Theatre, Toh Kian Chui Annex of the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (Novena Campus). 

For this instalment of the APU, there will be 2 sessions aimed at Internal Medicine and Family Medicine Residents preparing for the In-Training Examinations. Topics covered include:

Soft Tissue Infections
Respiratory and Cardiovascular Infections
HIV Medicine
Neurologic Infections
Travel Medicine
Sexually Transmitted Infections

Speakers at the APU are all experts in their fields, and presentations are aimed at preparing participants for confident practice in ID on the wards, in clinics and in the exams.

Singapore Antimicrobial Stewardship Training Course | 16 & 17 May 2016

The Singapore Antimicrobial Stewardship Training Course is jointly organised by the Institute of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology, National University Health Services and National University of Singapore, and Singapore General Hospital, and aims to introduce participants to best practices and skills needed to develop effective antimicrobial stewardship programmes. 

This year, the course will be conducted on the 16th and 17th of May at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Regional Event: Australian Society for Infectious Diseases Annual Scientific Meeting 20-13 April 2016

The 2016 ASID Annual Scientific Meeting will be held in Launceston, Tasmania at the Hotel Grand Chancellor from Wednesday 20th to Saturday 23rd April. This is the first time this meeting will be held in Launceston. The meeting will occur on the 40th Anniversary of ASID. ASID Launceston 2016 meeting themes will include a special focus on healthcare infection control and paediatric infectious diseases, with international speakers from UK and USA specialising in these areas. Other themes will include drug dosing in the obese patient, transplantation infections, molecular diagnostics and refugee health. Our visiting international speakers will provide a global perspective throughout the sessions, with several keynote lectures in their areas of expertise. The meeting will include proffered papers, symposia and educational workshops.
